Unlocking Potential: Celebrating Client Success for Gordon Kingsley Bass of GKB Interiors
Today I'm so excited to introduce you to one of my 1:1 coaching clients, Gordon Kingsley Bass, of GKB Interiors. I first met Gordon last fall after a live presentation I gave on the Design Roadmap System.
Gordon asked, "Do you work with new Designers?" Why yes, new designers are near and dear to my heart. In fact, I created the Design Roadmap System to give them the tools I wish I had when I was a new designer!
It's been so inspiring to work with Gordon and celebrate all of his hard work and success over such a short period of time. He's really put in the work to invest in himeself and his business, and it shows! Read on for his inspiring story!
Before
Gordon Bass, the owner of GKB Interiors in Portland, was just getting his interior design business off the ground. He had a background in education and had worked a bit in his husband's IT company, but this was his first time running his own show. Gordon loved designing spaces that were cozy and stylish, but he had a few big challenges:
- Lack of Professional Systems: He felt like his business didn’t have the polished documents, professional website, or streamlined process needed to impress clients.
- Finding Clients: Getting new clients and building a solid portfolio was tough.
- Confidence Issues: Imposter syndrome was real for Gordon, and he often doubted his capabilities.
- Big Dreams: He wanted to grow his firm, hire a couple of employees, and juggle multiple projects. He even dreamed of having a commercial space with a storefront showcasing his brand.
- Why Coaching: Gordon hoped coaching would help him create a comprehensive design process, boost his confidence, and have someone to turn to with questions as he figured everything out.
With Coaching
Gordon's feedback several months into coaching showed just how much things had changed for him:
- Design Roadmap Implementation: Learning and using the Design Roadmap gave Gordon a clear structure for his projects. This system made his business look way more professional and boosted his confidence like crazy. It even gave him the courage to go after and land a big project he never thought possible.
- Professional Growth: The structured approach helped Gordon take his business to a new level, making him feel more professional and sure of himself.
- Business Expansion: With his newfound confidence, Gordon was able to take on bigger and better projects, helping his business grow.
- Goal Setting and Accountability: Betsy's coaching focused on setting goals and celebrating achievements, which kept Gordon motivated and aware of his progress.
- Personalized Coaching: Gordon loved how Betsy tailored her coaching to his specific needs and how supportive she was. Her guidance was key to his business growth.
- Overall Transformation: Betsy's coaching brought much-needed clarity and structure to Gordon's business. He felt empowered to take on bigger projects and pursue his dreams with confidence.
In a nutshell, Gordon Kingsley Bass's journey from feeling like an imposter to becoming a confident and professional interior designer shows just how impactful personalized coaching can be. With Betsy's help, Gordon transformed his business, achieved significant growth, and set himself up for even more success in the future.
